Happy Veteran’s day

This man was a mere mortal of flesh and blood.  He had the inner light of a warrior and he carried this with honor and pride.

I knew he was a man, with weaknesses that men have.  But I saw what was inside.  He was a Nobleman of Old.  He saw the demons , the evil and the beasts that few of us see.  He would give his life to slay them.  He would give his life for me.

He thought his life was better served on the battlefield.

He relied on his instincts and his brethren in the heat of battle.

As he turned his shining eyes away, I knew he couldn’t stay.  He had paused on his quest just long enough to give me a glimpse of himself.  There were battles to be fought and dragons to slay.

Remember, that the safety and freedoms that we experience is because of mere men.  Veterans.

Happy Veteran’s Day.

Everyday Heroes

*On this Veteran’s Day, my humble offering of a small tribute to those that serve and those that have served.  Thank you.

This man is a mere mortal of flesh and blood.  The light I see in his eyes is that of an honorable man.

He sees the demons and beasts that few of us see.  He would give his life to slay them.

These beasts are not in the form you would know.  They wear the cloak of innocence.  They are the neighbor next door or the woman at the market.

This man stands at the ready so you can sleep safely in your bed tonight.

He runs toward the demons in our world, not away from them.   There are battles to be fought and demons to slay.

How can we repay the sacrifice?

Stars and Stripes

On the Birthday of this great nation, let’s not forget those that gave us the freedom to wave that beautiful flag.

As you hold your loved ones close watching the fireworks tonight, please remember the American Veteran.

These brave men and women have given up the joy of watching fireworks, or having a picnic, or seeing their children run through the sprinkler on a hot July day.
