A Bit of Faith

I am not really a religious person.  I have my beliefs and try to live my life the best I can.

But When it comes down to it, isn’t it all based on faith?

When do we really feel secure?  How long does it take for a child to feel secure the first time they let go of their parent’s hand?

Are you secure, wrapped in your blankets at night; sure there will be no fire, or intruder?  How many paychecks are you away from being homeless?  Most of us are not many.  Are you secure that your children will not be bullied or molested when they leave your home?

What gives us security is our faith.

It’s Faith to look in the eyes of our beloved and believe what they say.  Faith to send our children to school and pray they will come to no harm.

We are a society of faith.  We believe the walls of our society will not crumble.

Faith is what holds us together.

Have Faith, my friends. Your faith will keep you strong.

To FaceBook or Not to FaceBook

I had a FaceBook page years ago but deleted it.  Due to all of the security breaches and other negative aspects of FaceBook, I’ve never opened another account.

I’m toying with the idea of having an “Author’s Page”.  I’m sure the exposure couldn’t hurt.  Connecting with other writers, publishers, etc., would also be a plus.

Also, there is Twitter to think about.  I do have an account there but rarely use it.

Instagram is another that I’ve Never used.

So how much media exposure does one need?

How much, as a Writer, do you think FaceBook and other social media sites impact your writing?  Do you find negatives associated with your writing for having this kind of exposure?  I’d Love to get your feedback on this!!

Playing It Safe

I’ve been going through the tedious process of making sure that I have every single post from my WordPress account backed up.  This is all Michael’s fault.  🙂  He posted a very good piece on this very subject.  If you head over to Afterwards, you can see his post there.  Be sure to browse his site.  You’ll be glad you did!

I’ve made a very interesting discovery while going through the process of backing up these files.  That discovery is that I’ve written a LOT of stories about my life.  I had no idea.  I don’t have a final count yet.  I’ve not finished the process of backing everything up yet.

What surprises me about this is that these stories have just…happened.  They were nothing that I TRIED to write.  I would just sit down at the keyboard, much like I am doing tonight, needing to post something (day 16 of my 30 day post-a-day challenge) and boom!  There it is, another story!

It’s going to be interesting to see what the final outcome is!

Ok, I am waaaaay off topic.  WordPress is not fool proof, as many of us have painfully discovered at one time or another.  Back it up, back it up, back it up, my friends!

A Little Bit of Faith-

beach

I am not really a religious person.  I have my beliefs and try to live my life the best I can.

But When it comes down to it, isn’t it all based on faith?

When do we really feel secure?

Secure that we won’t slip & fall on the ice path of life?

How long does it take for a child to feel secure the first time they let go of their parent’s hand?

Are you secure in your job?  Do you know you cannot be replaced?

Are you secure, wrapped in your blankets at night; sure there will be no fire, or intruder?

How many paychecks are you away from being homeless?  Most of us are not many.

Are you secure that your children will not be bullied or molested when they leave your home?

Are you sure your spouse will never stray?

When you are lying in the arms of your lover, can you be sure they will always be there, by your side, loving you?

What gives us security is our faith.

Faith to look in the eyes of our beloved and believe what they say.  Faith to send our children to school and pray they will come to no harm.

We are a society of faith.

We believe the walls of our society will not crumble.

Faith is what holds us together.
