I seem to be stalled in my writing. Not that I write anything necessarily profound, but I have felt that my posts as of late, have been lacking, uninspired, blah. Nothing seems to spark me. The weekly prompts I participate in, the daily prompts, nothing seems to grab me.
With this in mind, I’ve decided to do one of those “Post-A-Day” things.
This has worked for me in the past and I guess it’s time to do it again. I think that most people find it to be true that the longer you are away from writing the less inspired you are to write. For me, if I push myself to write every day, even if it’s crap, eventually the juices start flowing and I’m back in the pink again.
So here’s your warning: For the next 30 days, I am going to post Something everyday. I say that this is a warning because the last time that I did this, believe me, those 30-some posts were NOT my best work.
For those of you that follow my blog on a regular basis, I apologize. What you are about to see here will most likely be a whole lot of junk, crap, shinola and garbage.
I hope that this exercise will put me back in good writing form. Wish me luck my dear friends and I thank you in advance for your patience.

I feel a little like the poor wounded potato in the picture above. (I like this picture and this gives me another excuse to use it!) I took a couple of days off work in order to have a medical test done. No worries, routine stuff. And Boy have I ever paid for it!

WordPress tells me that I have 200 Posts! I had no idea. Who knew I had so much to say! I consider myself a pretty quiet person. What a Blabber Mouth I am! 🙂
I enjoy my time on WordPress and have made some good connections and what I consider friendships. I enjoy checking in on my Favorite Bloggers to see how they are doing.
I’ve been doing my best (although it seems incredibly slow, I am making progress) to spend more time on my WIP novel. So I don’t get here as often as I used to. I know that I miss a lot as I scroll through the Reader.
So if you wonder why you haven’t seen the Likes or Comments from me that you used to, that’s why. Please know that I’m still here. I’m a little further in the background. But I’m still here, cheering you on!
THANK YOU to all of you that follow me. I’m a little overwhelmed and extremely flattered that you would bother to look in on me and my life.
I want to thank Robin at Robin’s Nest https://therobinsnest2017.com/ for tagging me for this post. Here is Robin’s post: https://therobinsnest2017.com/2017/07/07/desert-island-discs-blog-tag/
I’m going to change things up a bit though. Robin is a sweetheart to nominate me for this but I’m afraid that my choice in albums would be quite Old School. I have a feeling that I am a year or two older than Robin is! 🙂
It has been a long time since I bought an album. In fact, when I moved this last time, I never even bothered unpacking my CDs or my stereo. The stereo is out in the garage and the CDs are still in a cardboard box in the spare room.
Most of the time I listen to Internet Radio; either Pandora or Accu Radio. I bounce around in what I listen to a great deal. I listen to everything from Country, to Lite Rock, to Smooth Jazz, to Oldies.
I get tired of the same old thing and although I do have favorites, I crave hearing new music.
Here are the Robin’s rules:
If you are cast away on a desert island:
- You can bring 5 albums – what are they?
- You can bring one book – which is it? You are provided with a Bible/ other religious text if you want it, as well as the Complete Works of Shakespeare. No series!
- You can have one luxury item (it has to be inanimate and can’t help you escape the island) – what is it?
So, in light of my eclectic tastes and listening habits, these are the rules I have come up with:
- Name 5 songs you love and why they are so special to you.
- What is/are the book, writings or story that you read as a child and loved that would surprise some people?
- What is the one luxury item you have in your life now that you feel you couldn’t do without?

I set out to write a post every day this month and so far I’ve been able to do that. I don’t know if the “exercise” has strengthened my writing muscles, but I’ve had a good time doing it anyway.
Since I’ve been spending more time on WordPress, I’ve been poking around and looking at different tutorials & things. I’ve submitted some writing to other bloggers and I added a Contact Page to my blog. Just in case you wanna chat. 🙂
So I guess my exercising has done me some good after all.
I’ve been looking at different Themes and Headers. So you May see more changes to my blog coming up. Don’t hold me to that. I like what I’ve got and the last time I made a major change, it was like turning your back on a friend! So we will see…
I thank each and every one of you that spend a little of your time here. The WordPress community is filled with a lot of wonderful people and I’m so glad you’re here! — Penny Lane
I’ve finally reached the milestone of 100 posts on my blog! I know I should put more time into it, but I just don’t seem to be able to.
I want to take a minute and thank every one of my followers! You have been there through a lot of ups and downs and a lot of silly ramblings. Thank you, Thank you! I sincerely do appreciate the support!
It’s going to be 101 degrees here today. I hope you are having a cool summer!
Has anyone else ever had the problem of a follower becoming a bit of a stalker? A person that gets WAY too involved in your posts, your life, etc? Why won’t WordPress make it so that we can BLOCK an inappropriate follower?
What do you think about the subject?
