Ask Me How I Know

But one day you’ll meet the girl you swore you’d never find
Start feeling things you never felt and spending all your time
Trying to figure out how she got this hold on you
And when you start to fall, you’ll hold onto your pride
Start building up your walls and ever let her get inside
You’ll push her away ’cause that’s all you know how to do
And then she’ll leave and you won’t beg her not to go
Ask me how I know

Partial song lyrics, Ask Me How I Know written by-Mitch Rossell, sung by Garth Brooks

Randomness-Stairway to Heaven

“And as we wind on down the road
Our shadows taller than our soul
There walks a lady we all know
Who shines white light and wants to show
How everything still turns to gold
And if you listen very hard
The tune will come to you at last
When all are one and one is all
To be a rock and not to roll
And she’s buying the stairway to heaven”

Songwriters: Jimmy Page / Robert Plant – Led Zeppelin

*A bit of randomness here on your Sunday.  A very old song by Led Zeppelin, Stairway to Heaven. I’ve always loved it.  This last bit, copied and pasted above has always been my favorite part of the song.  This stuck in my head this morning so I thought I would share.  If you would like to see the complete lyrics, you can find them here: https://genius.com/Led-zeppelin-stairway-to-heaven-lyrics

Don’t Laugh at Me

Music has influenced my life many times over the years. It has A way to lift you up or drown you in sorrow. It is so powerful, inspiring, and thought-provoking. Poetry set to music. What could be more perfect? “Don’t Laugh at Me” is a song written by Allen Shamblin and Steve Seskin, and recorded by American country music artist Mark Wills. It was released in July 1998 as the second single from the album “Wish You Were Here”. Although this song has been around for 20 years, when I heard it a week or so ago, it brought me to tears. “In God’s eyes we’re all the same. Someday we’ll all have perfect wings.” See below. I hope you enjoy.

I’m a little boy with glasses
The one they call the geek
A little girl who never smiles
‘Cause I’ve got braces on my teeth
And I know how it feels
To cry myself to sleep

I’m that kid on every playground
Who’s always chosen last
A single teenage mother
Tryin’ to overcome my past
You don’t have to be my friend
But is it too much to ask

Don’t laugh at me
Don’t call me names
Don’t get your pleasure from my pain
In God’s eyes we’re all the same
Someday we’ll all have perfect wings
Don’t laugh at me

I’m the cripple on the corner
You’ve passed me on the street
And I wouldn’t be out here beggin’
If I had enough to eat
And don’t think I don’t notice
That our eyes never meet

I lost my wife and little boy when
Someone crossed that yellow line
The day we laid them in the ground
Is the day I lost my mind
And right now I’m down to holdin’
This little cardboard sign, so

Don’t laugh at me
Don’t call me names
Don’t get your pleasure from my pain
In God’s eyes we’re all the same
Someday we’ll all have perfect wings
Don’t laugh at me

I’m fat, I’m thin, I’m short, I’m tall
I’m deaf, I’m blind, hey, aren’t we all

Don’t laugh at me
Don’t call me names
Don’t get your pleasure from my pain
In God’s eyes we’re all the same
Someday we’ll all have perfect wings
Don’t laugh at me
