Never, ever, yours… — Afterwards

I love Michael’s blog, Afterwards.  He’s funny, uncensored, and irreverent.  But once in a while he lets his softer side show.  This is an example of one of those times.  Please enjoy this lovely poem by Michael.  ❤

Some words.

In My Dreams

I was sure I had found you
once,twice
more...

I've felt your arms around me
felt your strength
the heat
of your
heart

Just a dream

I've seen your eyes

They're the color
of the sea
on a winter morning

Your passion
has held me
enthralled me

I give myself
to you
just to awaken
to an empty
room

A dream

I thought I saw
your smile
in passing

I felt the electricity

The same as my dreams

You're out there
I know it
I feel it

I feel

you

Twisted Spell – #OctPoWriMo

She studied lore and craft

Her heart’s desire to obtain.

She used bat’s wings and chants

And even a little wolfbane.

She locked him in a cage

And cast spells on him each night.

Consumed #writephoto

It’s been a while since I’ve participated in Sue’s Thursday prompts.  However, this photo was very inspiring!  If you would like to be part of the fun with Sue’s prompts, you can read all about it HERE.  Below is my offering for Sue’s amazing photo.

A wildfire

Out of control

I am lost in

thoughts of you.

The loneliness burns

As does my desire.

Consuming you

being Consumed.

Raging against

the empty

Seeking your

Fire

Devour me with it

I beg.

I long to touch

The flame.

Capture

I breath you in

Eager to capture a part of you

A piece of you

I want to drink you down

Feel you wash over

my tongue

Warming my insides

I long to hold you

To remember the taste

of your lips

Let me

Cherish the moment

Relish the now

Arches

They were just ahead.  Soon, she’d have all she wanted.

It had been a torturous journey.  Having been denied this small luxury was hell.  People over there didn’t understand.  Still on the tiny plane, she started to imagine it.

Dusk at the Lake

Dusk at the lake.

I pick cattails and

think of summers

Spent with you.

Lazy days and

Memorable nights.

Sunsets of youth

And angst of desires

Yet undefined.

Light My World

I feel your gentle touch on the morning breeze.

The sunrise brings your warmth.

The trees deliver the echos of your heart;

The sky, the color of your eyes.

I hear your laughter in the raindrops.

The stars wink at me

Like the smile that touches your mouth.

The moon lights my path

As you light my world.

Between Us – #writephoto

Between us

A hunger

A wish…

Between us

Moments

Slipped away.

Between us

Adrift

Astray.

Between us

Love fractured.
