Friday Favorites-The Stories In Between

Welcome to another Friday Favorite!  Each week I will bring to you information about a favorite blog/blogger that is a favorite of mine.  Please be sure to take a minute to explore their blog and they might just become a favorite of yours too!

This week, I’d like to introduce you to The Stories In BetweenRiver Dixon’s imaginative way of expression is thought provoking, stunning and always a surprise.  Some of his pieces are dark & brooding, but their brilliance is clear.  THIS is a piece I found quite sad and sweet.  River’s poetry will sometimes leave the interpretation up to the reader.  But everything makes you ponder…  Like THIS POEM.

The Stories In Between will take you on an emotional roller coaster.  River writes of love, hate, life, death, darkness and light.  Through this journey, you may just find yourself breathless. For you never know for sure which way the coaster will go.  THIS piece is touching and sad, but eloquently penned.

River Dixon is an accomplish author, having published several books that are collections of his poetry and short stories. HERE is where you can find information about his books.  I’ve purchased 2 of his books, The Stories In Between, which is short stories and Left Waiting, a poetry collection.  Both, amazing works.  THIS is his Amazon Author page.

So head over to The Stories In Between today.  Explore the depth of talent you will find there.  I’m going to bet that River’s blog will become a favorite of yours too!

Welcome to another Friday Favorite! Each week, I’ll bring you information about a blog/blogger that I follow and why they are a favorite of mine.  This week, I’d like to introduce you to The Mad Chatter. Be sure to visit her blog and it may become a favorite of yours too!

I think that The Mad Chatter (Jessica) is a fairly new friend/blogger of mine.  I’m not sure exactly how or why we connected, but I’m sure glad that we did.  Jessica isn’t afraid to poke a little fun at herself, while getting her points across.  She’s an advocate for Mental Health issues and ending those stigmas.  These are just a few reasons why I enjoy her blog.

Like mine, The Mad Chatter’s blog is quite varied.  She writes what she wants to write and posts what she wants to post.  As it Should Be!! I love HER POSTGray Matter” where she talks about the variety of her posts.

The Mad Chatter has a page devoted to Mental Health. Go HERE to see it. I guarantee, there is food for thought on this page.

The Mad Chatter has a page on HUMOR, one on POETRY and a variety of other topics.  I love THIS POST that she did about the intelligence of an octopus.

All in all, Jessica’s blog, The Mad Chatter has a lot to offer!  Be sure to spend some time exploring this entertaining, and enlightening blog!  You’ll discover a new friend and a favorite too!

Friday Favorites-80s Metalman’s Blog

Welcome to another addition of my Friday Favorites!  Each week I will share with you information about a blog/blogger that I follow and why they are a favorite of mine.  Please be sure to check out their site because they may become a favorite of yours too!  Today’s favorite is Mike’s 80s Metalman’s Blog.

Although I’m a big fan of Heavy Metal Music, Mike will put enough of a spin on things to make it interesting for me. Mike and I connected on WordPress quite some time ago and he’s always been willing to participate and give input when asked.  I also find Mike to be encouraging and kind.

THIS is a page about Great Movie soundtracks in 1984.  This was fun for me, looking over Mike’s comments about movies like Ghost Busters, StarMan and Karate Kid.  HERE is a post Mike did about the soundtrack to the movie Footloose.  A favorite of mine.

On THIS PAGE Mike shows us his humorous side.  You’ll find fun videos from Christmas songs to Weird Al and more.  Be sure to take a few minutes exploring this page.  It’s sure to tickle your funny bone! 🙂

Mike will often write about the passing of a beloved band.  Some of these can be seen HERE.

THIS is a post that Mike did about a rock legend and a favorite of mine, Pat Benatar, the Queen of Rock at that time.

One thing that Mike the 80s Metalman will do occasionally, is to show touching or romantic lyrics in Metal Music.  This, of course, appeals to my poetic side.  I’m pleasantly surprised at the romance and tenderness expressed in some of these lyrics.

Mike’s knowledge in this genre of music is amazing.  He knows his stuff.  Be sure to spend some on the 80s Metalman’s Blog exploring.  I think you’ll like what you see there and he may become a favorite of yours too!

THIS is an example of Glass Art.  This is just one of the amazing and wonderful things that Donna finds for us!

THIS ONE is hilarious!  It’s Donna’s example of “Etsomnia”.  A brief description of “Etsomnia” is not being able to sleep and ordering bad decision based items from Etsy.  Donna has done several of these and every one of them has given me quite a giggle.

I love this look at Tiny Doors in the city.

On Donna’s blog, My OBT you will find the funny and fabulous, the weird and hilarious, the enchanting and the outlandish, for our enjoyment.

Friday Favorite’s-Sue Vincent’s Daily Echo

Welcome to another addition of my Friday Favorites!  Each Friday, I will spotlight a favorite blog/blogger. I hope to give you a glimpse into who and what their blog is about and why they are a favorite to mine. Please check out these posts and maybe they will become favorites of yours too! 🙂

Today, I’d like to introduce you to Sue Vincent’s Daily Echo .  Sue is a multi-faceted wonder.  I believe the reason that I originally connected with Sue is because she does a photo prompt called #writephoto. After discovering her blog, I was hooked. Sue’s #writephoto prompt is a prompt of a photo, sometimes a painting or other things. THIS is an example of one of her prompts.

The #writephoto prompts exposed me to the poetry that Sue writes. Her work is amazing. It seems to have a soft, mystical quality about it. Beautiful! THIS is where you can find some of her poetry.

Sue is quite prolific with her writings. She’s the author and co-author of several books. HERE is where you can find information on them. I counted 22 books on this page, at the time of this writing, there may be more. Sue’s writing talent ranges from the mystical to mystery to stories about her beloved pup. You’re sure to find something of interest among the many titles.

Sue also paints. Samples of her work can be seen HERE.  Are you beginning to see why I say that Sue is a multi-faceted wonder?

Please take a few minutes to explore Sue’s Blog. There you will find, short stories, flash fiction and even more than all of the different things I’ve mentioned here. Take your time to explore. You’re sure to find several things to delight you and ensure that you’ll be coming back for more.

Friday Favorites-Beckie’s Mental Mess

Welcome to another Friday Favorite! Each Friday, I will tell you a bit about a favorite blog/blogger of mine and why I like them.  Today I want to tell you about Beckie over at Beckie’s Mental Mess.

I just love Beckie and her blog.  I’ve been following her for some time now and thoroughly enjoy her posts!  First of all, Beckie is a sweetheart, someone I would love to get to know in person.  She’s funny and not afraid to poke a little fun at herself.

I think that the reason Beckie and I connected to begin with is because of her stand on Mental Health Awareness.  Beckie is a huge advocate and posts regularly on the subject.  Beckie does a regular piece that she calls “Working On Us“.  You can find a lovely example of the type of posts these are HERE.

Beckie also does a Monday Pet Peeve that is often hilarious as she pokes fun at herself and little things that annoy.  HERE’S an example.

Beckie participates in a number of prompts posted by other bloggers on WordPress.  She does the Weekly Smile from Trent’s blog, she does quite a few of A Guy Called Bloke’s prompts, like THIS ONE , which I love and quite a few others.

Beckie is a talented lady.  You never know what you will find on her blog.  From short stories to poetry, to pieces about her life.  THIS is an example of a Gorgeous poem that she wrote recently.  A girl after my own heart, writing about writing!

I could go on and on, because Beckies Blog is so diverse in its content.  Go visit, today!  You’ll be glad that you did!

Favorites Friday-Walt’s Writings

Welcome to Friday Favorites! Each Friday, I will share with you a little about one of my favorite blogs/blogger.  This week I would like to tell you about Walt Page.

Walt’s blog, is filled with beautiful poetry and other writings that will be sure to melt your heart and tug at your heartstrings.

Walt is married to (if you read the way he writes about her) the love of his life.   His poetry is filled with expressions of his love for his wife and the life they have made for each other.  THIS is an example of such beauty.

Walt is a bit of a hippy (I say that with love, Walt) and was a drummer in a rock band at one time.

Walt now lives in the country with his beloved wife, their dogs, horses and a quiet country life that he treasures.  Some of his writings include these loves.

Be sure to spend some time on Walt’s Blog, browsing through his posts.  You’ll be glad that you did and glad to connect with Walt.  He’s a treasure.
