Let Me Slumber

Under the stars
the grass is cool
against my fevered skin

You are in silhouette
but I know your breath
as it warms me

The breezes carry
your scent to me

The fireflies dance
as if in celebration

I’m intoxicated
by the night

If in a dream
let me slumber

I do not wish
the daylight
to intrude

The Thirst Remains

I’m the junkie
twitching
for his next fix

I’m the drunkard
looking
for his next drink

I’m the infant
crying
for his mother’s breast

The need in me
to give life to
my thoughts
is undeniable

My fingers
are drawn to the keyboard
searching
for that release

I long to
watch the letters
flow
across the screen
as I chase the cursor

The cursor
is mocking
me
today

My thoughts
will not emerge
upon the page

Today
the thirst
remains

Desires

I justify
what my heart
desires

The anticipation,
an aphrodisiac

Your scent,
intoxicating

Drunk with yearning
You tempt me

again
and again

Not forbidden
but remorse
pangs me

As your sweetness
passes my lips

Angel and demon,

Chocolate,
You have taken
me
yet again.

I know that this is a repeat, but I just couldn’t resist!  I hope you enjoyed. 🙂

Consumed #writephoto

It’s been a while since I’ve participated in Sue’s Thursday prompts.  However, this photo was very inspiring!  If you would like to be part of the fun with Sue’s prompts, you can read all about it HERE.  Below is my offering for Sue’s amazing photo.

A wildfire

Out of control

I am lost in

thoughts of you.

The loneliness burns

As does my desire.

Consuming you

being Consumed.

Raging against

the empty

Seeking your

Fire

Devour me with it

I beg.

I long to touch

The flame.

Capture

I breath you in

Eager to capture a part of you

A piece of you

I want to drink you down

Feel you wash over

my tongue

Warming my insides

I long to hold you

To remember the taste

of your lips

Let me

Cherish the moment

Relish the now
