Playing Favorites Friday “Trent’s World (The Blog)”

Happy Friday all!  We all have our favorites, right?  Favorite food, favorite music, etc.  I have favorite blogs.  Many, many favorites.  🙂  I decided that I need to be sharing these favorites with you.  After all, they ARE wonderful and that’s why they are favorites, right?

So today is my first of many (I hope) favorites, that I wish to share with you.  In no particular order, I’ll tell you a little about them and why they are my favorite blogs to visit.  Please be sure to drop by and give their blog a look-see.  You won’t be sorry and they might just become a favorite of yours too!

My very first favorite is Trent’s World (The Blog)

I start with Trent’s blog because he is one of the very first bloggers I connected with on WordPress.  He’s always been kind, inspiring and helpful to me from day one.  His blog is a treasure trove of short stories, not-so-short stories, prose, photography, art and various other things.

Trent does a Weekly Smile piece that is always fun to check out and participate in.  Trent is a very active blogger and participates in a number of prompts and challenges here.

Trent now has 4 books in print and 5th one coming soon!  He’s a prolific writer who weaves colorful and imaginative stories.  You can check out his book titles and descriptions HERE.

So be sure to check out Trent’s blog.  It’s worth your time and it may just become a favorite of yours too!

Another Dose of the Good Dr. Seuss

“When something bad happens you have three choices. You can either let it define you, let it destroy you, or you can let it strengthen you.” — Dr. Seuss

World Suicide Prevention Day

Those of you that have followed my blog for very long knows that Suicide Prevention and Mental Health issues are near and dear to my heart.  The battle to overcome the stigma of these issues is a continual one.

If you are struggling or if you know someone that is, please look over my page on Depression and Mental Health Help which can be found HERE.

On this page, you will find many links to helpful sites, hotline phone numbers and other sources of information.  You will also find several of my posts on Mental Health subjects.

If you know of a website, phone number or other resource that you feel would be beneficial to people, but I don’t have it listed, please contact me either in the comment section or by use of my Contact Page.  I will see that the information gets added to the page.

Thanks, as always, to those who choose to join me on my journey.  ❤  Penny

Spammy Laughs

*Ok Boys & Girls, it’s time once again for Laughs With Spam. We all get spam and have to deal with it, so I’ve tried to do something humorous with it. I’ve done several of these in the past but it’s been a while since I’ve had any “usuable” spam.  Below are some spam comments that I’ve received recently. They have not been edited in any way. You will see them just as they came to me, minus any possible harmful links. My comments on these will be seen in BOLD below.  I hope you enjoy! ❤

I Do Run

Fellow bloggers/writers –

It has come to my attention, via Gina’s post @alifelesslived (click the following link: Attention all! Please read), that a website called Tygpress has been harvesting posts from various bloggers and posting them without consent from the original writers/bloggers. This website is being hosted by Digital Oceans.

I found my entire blog on this website (I’ve attached this here as proof). I have filed a complaint with their web host (the link above for Digital Oceans goes right to their “report abuse” page) under the DMCA (Digital Millennium CopyRight Act) as there is no contact information on the Tygapress Website to contact someone there directly. I’ve looked up a few of the blogs that I follow and have found many of my favorite blogs on this website.

While this may be an issue for those bloggers hoping to someday publish their work (in a book…

Destination #writephoto

The fog, misty and surreal, rolls across the valley floor enveloping me with its velvet-like embrace. The road behind has many twists and turns.  The mountains, seemingly insurmountable at times and the valleys dark as night.  I’ve also seen the sunlight dawning with new promise and flowering with anticipation.  My destination?  I’ve no crystal ball for which to see the future.  Regardless, my pathway is clear.  Tomorrow.  Onward into tomorrow.

The Fortress

The walls are high
and built to withstand
the harshest
assaults.

They were pieced together
over the years
using
scars
as mortar.

I’ve paid the price
for this barrier
with bits of my soul.

Although my heart
is protected,
my spirit
has suffocated
behind these walls.

Heaving back the bolt,
I slowly open the door.

Through the crack
I see the light
of a new day.

The promise of tomorrow
beyond the horizon.
