Behind Her Eyes

There's a story
there

you can see the
depth

the sorrow
the yesterdays

too painful
to talk about

just behind
her eyes

  2. What an insightful poem in such sparse words. This is haunting and, oh, so revealing. What’s that quote? “Eyes are the window to the soul.” Maybe I’m not remembering correcting. No matter, I really like this poem, Penny.
