They say “use it or lose it”. I think this saying applies to a lot of things in life, including writing.
To write and write well, you need to do the work. Put your butt in the chair and physically WRITE. Develop a habit of writing, schedule the time. MAKE the time.
I took about 6 months off from blogging. In December of last year, I simply had too much going on in my life to focus on my blog. I’m having a hard time getting my Mojo back!
I make it a point to sit down each morning and spend some quiet time on WordPress. I read through other’s posts. I look for Word Prompts, such as the Word of the Day Challenge and others.
I have a Friend that uses what he calls a “Word Bank”. I do something similar. I collect words and phrases that I hear or read that I find interesting. Such as lines from songs or things I’ve read, etc. This has reaped a LOT of of my writings.
I’ve posted a few of my own writings in the past months, but I’m not happy with them. Nothing seems to really spark my imagination!!
I’m looking for ideas! What do you turn to for inspiration when you are feeling uninspired??
Thank you for joining me on this journey! ❤

Thank you, Susi. Lately, I seem to be back in the groove. I’ve been writing every day. I just hope it lasts and that my muse doesn’t go on leave again! 🙂

Feel free to join me each Thursday for #WRITEPHOTO. I post a photo from my travels and ask people to write whatever comes to mind (fiction, poetry, real-life, anything goes) then the following week I do a round up of all entries and explain the history behind the image. I have a list of my favourite blogs on my website too, a lot of these offer challenges that I join in when time allows. Hope this helps. KL ♥️

Thank you so much! I do follow your blog (I follow way too many!), but I don’t remember the Write photo prompt. I have changed my settings for your blog so I will not miss these in the future! I’ll jump in tomorrow! Thanks again! ❤

First, you’re right, Penny, on just do it. Just write. The more one writes, the more writing improves. Like anything. Look to everyday life to inspire you. Because I combine writing and photography, I always have plenty to share.

Thank you, Audrey. I need to do a self-imposed challenge, I think. 🙂

What worked for me was to get something, anything down and worry about how good it was later. It doesn’t have to be good, it just has to be yours.

Write about something you love. A colour. A view. A word. Anything. And get the first sentence down before you have time to rethink it. You’ll soon be off and running. 🙂
