Empty Words

A quiet soul
longing for
connection
in this loud and
disconnected world

The isolation is
heavy

cumbersome

A physical
ache

My desolation echoes
off empty walls
down empty halls

The words
are
empty today

Unfulfilling

  2. This is such a powerful commentary on how isolated and alone many of us are feeling during this pandemic. Yet, though we may be physically separated, friendships, love, kindness and more still link us. You are not alone, dear Penny. Nor am I.
