Back Then

Yesterday's ink
gives a view
into my thoughts
of you
back then

Back then
I knew
what love was

or thought I did

Back then,
tomorrow
seemed
such a long way off

Today's view
has been tarnished
by the
soot
on the panes of glass

Smoke
from the fire
that once burned
in my heart

For you

Back then
