I Write For Me

This blog has gone through a lot of transformations over the last 5+ years. Although I’m not setting any records, my following has continued to grow.  I am grateful and still a bit in awe that anyone would want to hear what I have to say!

I’ve grown personally, and as a writer over these years.  Along the way, I’ve had some real stinkers for posts. I look back on some of these and cringe.  But you, my fellow bloggers and others, have hung in there through the good and the bad.  You’ve allowed me to subject you to whatever ramblings I find important at the time.  🙂   For this, I am grateful.

I’ve made some wonderful friends and connections on WordPress.  People that hopefully, will be life-long friends.  This community has given me a connection to the world that I never knew I was lacking.  My life is richer and better for it.

We all write for different reasons.  The above are some of those reasons.   There are other reasons as well.  I won’t bore you with the laundry list of reasons I write (expression, creativity, etc. etc.).  The real reason I write is for ME.

In many instances, my writing has been healing.  We all have struggles and being able to express myself as I go through those struggles has kept me coming back again and again.

As I approach my 2,000th follower (blows my mind), I want to thank all of you who have endured the good and the cringe-worthy posts of mine.  With your kindness and grace have I been able to grow, learn, and express myself here.

I don’t know what the future hold for Penny Wilson Writes, but I do hope you will continue to join me on this journey.

❤ Penny

  2. Penny, I am honored to be a follower of your blog, to read your words, your insights, your creativity. Yes, you have grown in your writing skills, as should all of us who write for the love of the creative process. Keep writing, my friend. You are one gifted writer who pens from the heart. And that is what I appreciate– honesty, not pretense of someone you are not or want us to think you are.
