The Moment

For a second
maybe two

our eyes meet

Yours
held mine
prisoner

Me
gladly
surrendering

Joyfully
longingly
falling

Into those clear
cool
pools

The moment
now gone

You turn away

Would you smile
a welcome?

Do you know
this heart?

reaching

We will never know
