I take the words
and set them aside
My prized cache
I sometimes file them
neatly
Other days
they blend and fade
Dissolving
A brief glimpse
They tantalize
with only
hints of what they
can become
I keep the case locked
guard them
hoard them
Their opaque
existence
an unstable realm

*Words and phrases become treasures hoarded. Seedlings for
future poetry, writings. These are so fleeting. If I don’t
immediately write them down, they are usually lost, gone forever.

Brilliant! Sounds like all the notebooks that surround me… Ideas, words, meanings, all there rolling around from paper to laptop. LOL! Lovely piece!
