The king                                                                                                                                                giver and taker                                                                                                                                       of lives.

Sacred pledge.

Promise                                                                                                                                                    of bloodshed.

The blade                                                                                                                                                    a talisman.

Bearing witness                                                                                                                                      to carnage.
