The Rose-
Velvet petals
soft as a kiss
dew embraced with
alluring scent
intoxicate
tempted fingers
covet
thorns ignored
pain endured
bloodshed
worthy
to possess such
beauty

If you want the rose, you must also accept the thorns beneath it.
Beauty is not the absense of pain but the understanding of it.
Amazing poem, Ms Wilson.
