Coyote Attacks-Input Needed!

The weirdest thing has been happening in Frisco, Texas.  There have been 6 (that I know of) aggressive coyote attacks on humans!  From my experience, coyotes are normally afraid of humans and will avoid them.

There is an article HERE about some of these attacks that you can read.  It’s not that these people were provoking the animals.  They were actually stalked and attacked!

Frisco is NOT a tiny town out in the wilderness.  It has a population of more than 177, 000 people and is only about 30 miles north of the mega city, Dallas (1.3 million).  Another fact: several of these coyotes have been shot and killed, then tested for rabies.  They’ve all tested negative for rabies.

This is totally out of character for these animals.  There are all kinds of guesses as to what may be causing them.  People feed their animals outside, garbage cans, etc., etc.

But let’s let our imaginations run wild here.  What do you think may be causing these attacks?  Are they drinking water that’s poisoned with radiation?  Are they actually alien creatures?  Are they part of a plan by some evil villain? 

I’m asking for your input with this because in a round-about way, this applies to my WIP, novel.  Your ideas would be a tremendous help!  PLEASE use the comment section below and give me your most creative, crazy, wild ideas for the attacks.

  1. Any updates? I like the last commenter’s theories. They are somehow being altered to be more aggressive. I have heard of a lot more wild animals attacking humans. Scary for this runner!

    1. I’ve not heard about anything else in a long time. I did look up “what to do” if you see a coyote. DON’T RUN! If you run, you look like prey to them. Yell, wave your arms, throw rocks, etc and back away. But don’t run!

  2. 1. Considering how bad the additives they put in our food is for us humans, you can cause an additive to affect them from all the human trash they eat. 2. This might be a natural reaction for the coyotes if they feel threatened – maybe because their food is hard to find or they feel like they don’t have enough space. 3. Better yet, a new electrical plant is built near the coyote’s home base. It emits an odd noise that causes them to become violent. It should be something out of human range so you’ll have to check on what a coyote can hear, but it sounds doable.

  4. Weird! Sounds like they need to kill one and do an autopsy on the brain! Sometimes once they have attacked a human they probably aren’t afraid of them anymore! Women especially have to be careful about being out on a running/walking trail alone. There was a lady killed by a mountain lion in California, they think she was having her period and it smelled blood???

    1. I agree, but I don’t think they would spend the money. The last incident that I heard about was when a guy was walking his little dog. The coyote went after the dog, biting him on the back and picking him up! The owner had a golf club and lunged at the coyote with it, scaring him. The coyote dropped the dog and ran off. But a short time later showed up in this guy’s back yard looking for the little dog! They showed it on camera, sniffing all over the yard. The coyote then proceeded to jump and scale a 6-foot fence to escape. The little dog survived but had some nasty bites on his back! So weird!! Scary too! Thanks for the visit, Chuck! ❤

  5. I’ve actually heard of this because I’m in the Frisco area! My brother-in-law is a jogger and I warned him to be careful! I’ve thought for awhile now that Frisco’s goal is to leave no grassy field unpaved. Perhaps nature is finally rallying to fight to take back what is rightfully theirs!

  7. Oh I instantly run to malevolent God-spirit… Fenris maybe? The coyotes (and foxes, wolves and eventually domesticated dogs) go feral and chase down the two-legged as a herald of His arrival. Maybe?
