I Owe My Soul to the Company Store

Most of you are much too young to understand what the title of this post is referencing.  🙂  I may not owe my soul to the Company Store, but before it’s done, I’ll owe it to Home Depot!  hee hee!

Being a new homeowner has had So Many Joys!  I love my little nest.  ❤  (The picture above IS of my cute little house, although the grass has started to come back and is greening up nicely.  This was the picture.)  I had no idea how Handy I would become, working around the house!  I’ve always considered myself self-sufficient, but I am learning things that I never knew that I would need to know!

I’ve added additional shelves to the kitchen cabinets.  Before and after pictures here.

THIS was quite the ordeal!  I added the upper shelf in the laundry room.  It took me about 3 days altogether.  Figuring out HOW to hold the shelf in place while I bolted it to the wall was a challenge.  I’m working alone here, remember.

I still need to unpack MUCH of my stuff.  (this pic is just SOME of the stuff!) But that I can do as I have time.

I still have a long list of to-do’s.  I want to seal the deck before the weather really turns here.  I need to have several of the trees in the backyard trimmed before spring and the windy time of year hits here.  Due to new regulations, I have to install a curbside mailbox.  I want to install concrete pavers around the perimeter of the deck to eliminate the rainfall from making mud and splashing.  Etc., etc., etc.

I’m not complaining.  Quite the opposite.  The fact that I am working toward an End Goal of retirement in My Home is quite satisfying.  I am still just as Happy as I can be!

I’m beginning to have a little more time to check in with my favorite bloggers, but I’m still Very Far Behind in my reading.  Thank you all for being so patient with me and hanging in there while I go through these many adjustments in my life.

Thank you for joining me on this journey!  Penny ❤
