I Didn’t Know I’d Live This Long #2

*This was originally inspired by The Militant’s Negro’s post which you can find  HERE.  You can view my first post on words of wisdom HERE.

If you’ve lived on this planet for any length of time and paid attention, then hopefully you’ve learned a thing or two.  Below are some things that I’ve learned along the way and some of my points of view.

Continuing from my previous post:

#16. Internet Dating has ruined the world of dating.  You are now a commodity. (a future post on this to come)

#17. Most people ARE good.  See my reasoning HERE.

#18.  Some people should not procreate.

#19. Some people should not own pets.

#20.  If cheesecake is a sin, then I’m going to hell.

#21.  Starting over may be painful, scary even.  But sometimes it’s a necessary process in order to move forward in your life.  There is no shame in starting over.

#22.  The only constant in life is change.  If you’re not changing, you’re not living.

#23.  Cheer for the underdog.  You’ll be surprised how much a little support and self-confidence will go in someone’s life.

#24.  Take the time and effort to Nurture your friendships.  The rewards are tremendous and many times, life long.

#25.  Learn an art form.  I don’t care if it’s drawing, writing, Lego blocks, or playing a musical instrument.  An art form is good for the soul.

#26.  Respect your elders, they’ve earned it.

#27.  World War II veterans are all in their 80’s and 90’s now.  Give them the respect and recognition they deserve while we still have them.  Every Single One of them are Heroes.

#28.  Carve out some down time in your life.  Take and hour, if that’s all you can spare, once a week.  Unplug from all the electronics around you.  Your cell phone, your computer, the TV, even the radio or stereo.  Go outside.  Breath.  Just BE.

#29.  Cherish your family.  You only get one.

#30.  Don’t wait too long to think about your future.  We always think there’s going to be another tomorrow.  The number of those is limited.

*My original intent here was to give you a list of 60 things I’ve learned in 60 years.  You can see my first 15 at the link above.  I may continue this at some point, but I’ve run out of steam.  Be well!  Best! Penny
