The smile hid the turmoil inside.
She loved deeply; unaware of any other choice. The void within was a constant thing. She expected it. Could find nothing to fill it.
So she loved harder.
Her heart reached out, in search of the light that could fill it. Darkness descended each time, choking her heart. Her heart wavered.
She felt beaten.
She held her heart carefully and built it up like a fortress. The walls, thick. The locks, secure.
Still she loved. Her belief in the light faltered, but held true.
The darkness was repelled.
The light filled her to overflowing. Her love finally returned.
She loved.
Despite it all, she loved.

This is very moving! When I love, I love deeoky, totally and unconditionally. It’s the only way I know. Have I been hurt? Hell yes, but I don’t give up. It’s the only way I know. Tomorrow is the 15th anniversary of my first wife’s passing. It will be a day of loving remembrance. ☺😢💛
