Cleaning house

I mentioned in a previous post that I could not seem to get interested in reading anything.  I decided that i needed a fresh start.  The stack of books in the picture above used to be on my nightstand next to my bed.  My To Be Read Pile.

No more!  They are gone!

I went through them and found some amusing things.  There were several of those books that I have picked up, tried to read and put them back down, because I just had NO interest in them.  I did this with them several times.

There were a couple of books that Maybe (probably not) I will get around to reading some day.  And then there were a couple of books that I looked at and thought “what was I thinking?” when I bought that!?

So, instead of letting this pile of books taunt me, I gathered them up and shoved them all away onto the shelf of a bookcase.  Where they can just blend in with the rest of the crap!

In light of the big empty and clean space on my nightstand, I did the only sensible thing!  I bought more books!

  1. I gathered mine all in a box, not for cleaning or boredom, but we’re moving to a new house🙂

  2. If a book doesn’t grab my interest by several chapters in, I’m done with it. Too many books exist for me to waste time on something that doesn’t draw me in right away. I will be donating books to our annual used book sale in town.

I buy books all the time that I would never read – so I started taking them to the local retirement home. At least they might be someone’s cup of tea
