You’ve been there when no one else would bother. You know me better than any other soul on Earth.
You’ve always supported my decisions and you’ve saved me from myself, just in the nick of time; more than once. You’ve shared in my triumphs and successes and you’ve grieved with me during my losses.
You’ve encouraged me and have been my biggest cheerleader. You believed in me when I didn’t believe in myself. You’ve always given it to me straight, not afraid to tell me the truth. And you’ve always known when I needed that extra little shove in the right direction.
You’ve been there to console me when tragedy struck or to brighten my day and lift me up during my darkest times.
You’ve been there to help me pick up the pieces when it all went wrong.
Although you had little, if I was in need, you’ve given all you could without reservation.
You’ve never asked me for anything except my friendship.
I’ve watched you suffer through illnesses, poverty, heartache and grief. Through it all, you have been the most positive influence in my life. No matter what was happening in your life, if I was in need of help, you never failed to extend your hand.
Any comfort that I’ve been to you along the way has been miserably inadequate compared to the joy that you have added to my life.
I can only imagine the darkness and despair I would have had to endure if it had not have been for your grace and beautiful spirit. “Friend” seems such a pitiful word to describe what you are to me. You are so much more.
“When I count my blessings, I count you twice.” –Irish Proverb

Even I have very good friends who stand by me in my good and bad times. They understand me very well and even I have written a post for such special friends. Though my context was little different, but I feel like sharing it with you..

I looked at the post. Nicely done. Akanksha, you’re comments will not show up right away because I moderate all comments on my blog. So you don’t need to send me something twice. I’ll get it. 🙂 I just wanted you to know that you don’t have to work so hard!
Thank you and thank you for stopping by!

What a friend, what a friendship. I have found that friends hold a depth of understanding, of compassion, of care that blood family does not. I’m not sure why. But for me, my friends have provided incredible support and love. Just like yours.
