Batteries Not Included

My best friend Rocket, pictured above, is a little bitty guy.  That’s a purse he’s sitting in in the photo.  This will give you an idea as to how tiny he really is.  I hear comments from people about about his size all the time.

I heard something today from someone that I’ve never heard before.

I took Rocket to Petco today to get his nails trimmed.  I was holding Rocket as I waited for the woman behind the counter to finish waiting on the customer that was ahead of me.

While standing there, a man entered the store behind me.  He had a beautiful shepherd mix on a lease.  The dog was all white with beautiful light blue eyes.

I looked at the man and commented “What a beautiful dog!”  He said “Thank you!  Tell me, how often do you have to replace the batteries in yours?”

  1. Great line!
BTW: your doggie is what was referred to a few years back as a ‘pocket pet.’ Or did you already know that? (my cousin owned an independent pet store back then, so the info was from her)

  2. You’re right, that WAS a great line!
In all fairness to Rocket though, he has stealth on his side. AND he can get into those hard to reach places in a pinch. And he can accompany you anywhere, which makes his life quite interesting and full.
