*This is in response to Sue Vincent’s photo prompt. You can read all about it here.
Would it be different if we tried again?
Or would you still be a thorn on my rose?
The embers; still warm; when I see your face.
But I shield my heart from the blows.
You can’t just erase the past,
Or make me think you’d be kind.
There is no reason to ever go back.
Do you really think that I’m blind?
There’s no magic portal to erase the past.
No magic clock to turn back the years.
You will forever be who you always were.
You’re not worth shedding another tear.
