I was clearing out old books last month and came across a pile of old writing notebooks, some went all the way back to twenty years ago. At the times I feel like I’ve sucked my creativity dry, it’s good to remember and look back on those old words, that I don’t even remember writing, and know that there have been places for my words to go for all this time. Beautifully simple post, very powerful. Thanks.

  2. Yes, yes, yes. And that is when you experience that moment of pure exhilaration, of absolute writer’s joy.

  3. I know what you mean, Penny. Sometimes I re-read a poem a wrote a while back and I can’t imagine how I wrote it.
