I found out about the program Scrivener through one of my favorite bloggers here, https://jessicabakkers.com/ Jessica Bakkers. She just happened to mention the program in a comment so I checked it out.
This program is incredible! Although there is a learning curve involved, I can already tell that this program is something that I will use. If you want more detailed info, you can go here and check it out. http://www.literatureandlatte.com/scrivener.php They give you a free 30 day trial to try it out and a great tutorial. So there is no risk.
I have been struggling with trying to figure out a way to correct the mess I’ve made of the first draft of my novel. You can read about my ordeal here. https://pennylanewrites.com/2017/07/20/what-a-mess/ I have several versions floating around. 😦 Scrivener is the answer!
I spent time going through the tutorial and then importing my different versions. With Scrivener, I’m going to be able to combine the different versions into one cohesive manuscript. A miracle!
I have a long way to go, but I made good progress today and I can see light at the end of the tunnel.
Thank you Jess!
I need to get on the Scrivener train. I’ve been hearing about it more and more. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, and providing a link to the program.

You really should try it. I have loved Word for ages, but for a larger document, it just doesn’t work. Scrivener is very inexpensive. I even found a discount online. Thanks for stopping by Rene’!

I’ve had this thing in my applications folder for a while now, along with Ulysses. I still tend to compose my simple blog posts right in WP, but now you are giving me a reason to go take a look at them again. Thanks for that!

I haven’t done a lot with it yet. Since I’m relatively new to blogging, I’m just starting to get my feet wet.

I found that Ulysses is for Apple products only. I own a PC.
I find that Word, or other simple processing programs work fine for blogging or relatively short projects. For WP, I usually use the one right in WP for most of my posts. But I needed something that would handle a large project. My novel will be hundreds of pages. Too big for Word, to be able to sort & manipulate.
Wet feet is a good thing! 🙂 Thanks for looking in on me!

Thank you Penny for driving my attention to this application (and thanks to Jessica too). I’ve been always interested in organizing my writings starting with my papers in university to my memories. I tried many good noting applications such as Evernote then OneNote and Words processing ones. This seems an advanced one. I’m working on testing it. Thank you again.
